Job Description
Applications are warmly invited for trainee representatives with a special interest in urogenital imaging, encompassing any combination of uroradiology, urointerventional radiology and gynaecology radiology (there may be more than one appointment in this round of selections).
Term is 2 years.
Duties include:
- Act as liaison between trainees with an interest in Urogenital imaging and the BSUR.
- Serve to promote the expanding area of Urogenital imaging to trainees.
- Organise and chair the annual virtual BSUR trainee study day, scheduled in January, aimed at delivering relevant education to radiology trainees covering aspects outlined in the RCR curriculum. The event is coordinated in collaboration with the BSUR committee and the education officer.
- Attend at the BSUR AGM held as part of the Annual Scientific Meeting.
- Attend and contribute to regular virtual BSUR Committee meetings.
- Keeping trainees informed of upcoming meetings, courses and any relevant educational material such as journal articles and online resources.
- Curate the content of the trainee representative section of the BSUR website, which involves maintaining an updated list of available urogenital radiology fellowships.
- Engage in BSUR educational initiatives, including coordinating the BSUR FRCR 2A Question Writing Panel and representing BSUR at the RCR FRCA 2a question panel meetings.
- Criteria for the appointment of the trainee rep:
- Must be a UK based BSUR member with an interest in urogenital imaging.
- Must have completed the FRCR, or be in 3rd year having completed the 2A exam, with an intention to sit the FRCR at the next available sitting.
- Must have at least 12 months until CCT from the date of appointment.
- Ideally, candidates should have attended past BSUR meetings or related courses/conferences to demonstrate commitment and interest in urogenital imaging.
