BURSARY UPDATE

The BSUR Committee warmly invite BSUR members in applying to the following bursaries:

 

1) Conference Bursary

Value of up to £500 to support relevant costs for presenting original scientific work or educational exhibits related to urogenital radiology at either the ESUR 2025 or RSNA 2025 in Chicago.  The bursary can be used for both virtual and live meeting expenses dependent on the conference and circumstances.


The outcome of each bursary application will be sent by email from BSUR once respective abstract acceptance decisions have been made. 


Applications should be submitted via email to secretary.bsur@gmail.com, please include the following supporting documents -
1. The abstract(s)
2. Confirmation of abstract acceptance by the meeting organisers
3. A letter of support from a BSUR Consultant member
4. BSUR membership number
Please provide an original and, if necessary, an anonymised version of the abstract acceptance to allow blinded scoring. Please do not submit more than 2 abstracts in any one round.
If your application is accepted, please acknowledge BSUR and use the BSUR logo on your exhibit. The bursaries are competitive, and applications evaluated objectively by a BSUR subcommittee. More than one bursary may be awarded for each round.
It may be used for registration, travel, and accommodation expenses (for live meetings) and costs that are not met from other sources. The successful applicant will be informed within 1 week of the deadline and details of the successful applicant will be published on the BSUR website. Payments will be retrospective and require receipts within 6 months of the meeting.
Deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday 1st September.

2) International Bursary

Travel Outreach Bursary up to the value of £1000 to promote and support urogenital radiology in mid and low-income countries. The bursary will be awarded annually.

Previous experience of working in developing countries will be advantageous. Additional points will be awarded for originality, new projects, and projects aiming to establish long-term relations with an overseas centre.

The bursaries are competitive, and applications will be evaluated and scored objectively by a BSUR subcommittee. The bursary award winners will be announced at the BSUR annual scientific meeting. Successful applicants will be invited to present the project and share their experiences at the following annual BSUR annual scientific meeting and co-operate/advise on any future outreach projects.

1. Invitation letter from overseas partner (if applicable)

2. Short description of the project

3. Personal statement, may include previous experience of working overseas (250 words)

4. Short budget proposal

5. A letter of support from a BSUR consultant member

Please provide an original and, if necessary, an anonymised version of the invitation to allow blinded scoring. Payments will be retrospective and require receipts within 6 months of the project
